Please help, or just comment or upvote if you're experiencing the same problem. I googled the problem, but because of the notable absence of any error codes or other useful information, i couldn't find anything. I also tried reinstalling the launcher which, needless to say, did not work. For the time being i'll be using the technic launcher, which does work for whatever weird reason.īecause switching to the stable launcher fixed the problem (until that one was updated) i'm fairly confident that my java version is not related, but just to be sure: i tried jre-1.8.0-openjdk, jre-11-openjdk and jre-17-openjdk. As mentioned before, this has been happening to the beta launcher since a couple weeks, causing me to switch to the stable one, which got updated when i ran updates on my computer and broke as well. Starting the launcher from a terminal shows no useful information either. And the worst part: no error codes, no output log, just a small box saying "Sorry, unable to start Minecraft.", followed by the start button showing the loading animation, even if i change to another profile. The latest minecraft launcher (and the beta version since a couple weeks ago) fails to start minecraft 1.7.10, modded and vanilla. (#spoiler) = neat!
